Built to manage risk, from day one.
The firm is new. The conviction behind it isn’t — it was formed in one of the worst markets in modern history.
A lesson from the Dot-Com Bubble
Momentum Wealth Planning was founded on the principle of managing risk by following momentum. Our Managing Director, David Flanders, saw firsthand the devastating effects of the Dot-Com Bubble in the early 2000s — portfolios cut in half, retirements delayed, years of progress erased. He vowed to always have a plan and a process to manage risk when the market trend rolled over.

From pure tactical to sophisticated hedging
The approach has evolved since then — from what David practiced earlier in his career to the Tactical Momentum Strategy the firm has offered since its founding in 2024. What began as a pure tactical allocation approach — selling equity and moving to cash when trends turned negative — has grown into a more sophisticated one that incorporates options hedging, including protective puts and covered calls, seeking to manage risk while aiming to stay invested.
An independent firm, founded in 2024
We opened Momentum Wealth Planning in 2024 as an independent fiduciary firm based in Estero, Florida, and work with families across the country.
